Who we are

ArcGlyph is an independent VR application developed by a single creator based in Puerto Rico, USA. You can contact us at [email protected].

Data We Collect and Why

Category Examples Purpose Where Processed
Device & Motion Sensors Headset position, hand tracking To render spells and interactions On-device only
Approximate Location (coarse) City-level latitude/longitude from Android Location (Wi-Fi based; no GPS) To show a local weather emoji when you turn on the Weather feature On-device for permission and feature logic; coordinates are sent over HTTPS to WeatherAPI.com to fetch the current weather. ArcGlyph does not store location.
Audio Recordings (microphone) Voice captured while the Recorder Spell is active To create on-device .wav files so you can replay, export, or delete voice notes On-device only
Local Gameplay Content Anchor positions, spell definitions, preferences To preserve your custom setup between sessions Stored in app sandbox
Support Communications Email and message contents (only if you contact us) To help us respond to your support requests Our support inbox only

Meta Horizon Platform Data

ArcGlyph uses platform features provided by the Meta Horizon ecosystem, including spatial anchors, passthrough rendering, hand tracking, and microphone access. These may involve processing the following:

This data is processed only on-device to enable core features. None of this data is transmitted or stored externally unless you explicitly choose to export or share it. Location permission, when used, is provided by the Android operating system (not by Meta platform services).

Weather Feature & Third-Party Service

If you enable the optional Weather feature, ArcGlyph will request approximate location permission and send your coarse coordinates to WeatherAPI.com to retrieve current conditions. We do not store your location. Weather data and coordinates are used only to display an emoji indicating local conditions.

Deep Link Features

ArcGlyph supports deep links that allow specific in-app actions (like deleting a spell circle) to be triggered from URLs. These links include only app-generated IDs and do not contain any personal or device data. No information is sent to external servers during this process.

Third-Party Sharing (Optional)

ArcGlyph includes an optional sharing feature that allows users to generate short URLs using TinyURL. When you choose to share a spell circle or setup:

These shared links are public and can be viewed by anyone with the link. Use of the sharing feature implies consent to send gameplay data to TinyURL under their own Privacy Policy.

What We Do Not Collect

ArcGlyph does not collect names, account identifiers, precise (GPS-level) location, payment data, or usage analytics, and we never transmit microphone data off the headset. We do not share data with third parties except: (a) when you explicitly use the TinyURL sharing feature, or (b) when you enable the Weather feature, which sends coarse coordinates to WeatherAPI to return the forecast.

How We Use Data

Where Your Data Is Stored

All gameplay, sensor, and audio data are stored locally on your Meta Quest headset inside the app’s secure sandbox. Location is used ephemerally and not stored by ArcGlyph. Nothing is transmitted externally unless you enable the Weather feature (coordinates to WeatherAPI) or choose to export an audio file or share via TinyURL.

Data Retention & Deletion

Security

Data is stored in the Meta Quest application sandbox and protected by operating-system permissions. Weather requests are sent over HTTPS. ArcGlyph does not operate any analytics or advertising SDKs.

Microphone Permission

When you first use the Recorder Spell, ArcGlyph requests the Meta Quest “Record Audio” permission. Recording begins only after you confirm it, and you may revoke the permission at any time in Quest → Settings → Permissions.

Location Permission

When you enable the optional Weather feature, ArcGlyph requests the Android “Location” permission. We use approximate (coarse) location only. You can decline, continue using the rest of the app, turn the feature off later, or revoke permission in Quest → Settings → Permissions.

Children

ArcGlyph is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect or store data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and submitted data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

You have the right to access or request deletion of your personal data, regardless of where you live. Please contact [email protected] to make a request.

Our representative for EU data matters is Javier Gomez, reachable at the same email.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy when changes occur. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version. Continued use of ArcGlyph after updates means you accept the revised terms.
